New
for 2008 May 17-18th
We
are proud to announce that we have merged our River
Games competition on the Clackamas river with the
"UPPER CLACKAMAS WHITEWATER FESTIVAL"
We will continue to sponsor river clean-ups and race
competitions on other rivers. Here is a link for more
info on the festival this year.

This
merge will create the largest whitewater festival
on the west coast. You will find all the great races
plus some new ones at this years festival.
In our first year 2004 Oregon River Games (ORG) was the Largest Whitewater Rafting Event on the West Coast. In 2005 ORG became through special consideration the opening event of the world famous Portland Rose Festival. The 2005 event expanded our schedule to include Flat-Water Dragon Boat Demo events hosted by local clubs, and a Fishing Derby including Safety and Educational Clinics for Children hosted by the Northwest Steelheaders Association.
The 3rd annual Oregon River Games, which was held the first weekend in May 2006, saw a huge schedule increase which has expanded our event scheduling from 2 to 3 days and may very well see another days expansion in 2007.
We are proud to announce that the Largest Whitewater Kayaking event in the Pacific Northwest (Bob's Hole) has became an event of Oregon River Games. New rafting events for 2006 included the Armed Forces Cup which was held with the cooperation of the Recruiters from all branches of the service, and was a tremendous addition to our event.
Also in our effort to bring younger people into the sport of whitewater rafting, in addition to our University Cup there was a High School Cup in 2006. To prepare the young high school athletes for our competition ORG hosted guide school training camps in April. This training camp was sponsored and conducted by High Desert River Outfitters and a cadre of experienced river guides.
Now going into our fourth year Oregon River Games may very well be the largest non-motorized paddle sport event in the United States. There are more whitewater enthusiasts in the Pacific Northwest than anywhere on Earth. Over the next couple of years, Oregon River Games hopes to create the largest event of this kind in the world! Come be a part of the festivities this year, and stay tuned for the launch of our new website for 2007!
